Cabinetry and Interior Design
Our Interior Designers, Cabinetry Designers, Architect, and craftsman can design or build almost anything you want for your home or office. We will draw from your wishes and dreams, and working within the budget, we will refine form and function, help select finishes, countertops, fixtures, and anything else the impacts the design of your space. We have the resources change the architecture of your room and submit for all necessary permits. Defining, elaborating, and implementing projects, be it a kitchen or a special piece of furniture, is a process that involves several steps. Typically, these may include any or all of the following:

1-Complimentary on-site visitPurpose
Preparation We ask you to assemble as much information as you can that will help us to get a precise picture of what you envision such as:
It is not possible to bring too much information - and don't be concerned if it is not organized or "presentable" - we will work through it. We may make color copies for our own use in the design process. To help you with organizing your thoughts and perhaps do your own preliminary design, many of our cabinetry lines offer free on-line design software. We will review this information together with you, discuss possibilities, and answer your questions. If this process results in a feasible concept, we will provide one initial estimate at no charge. This usually takes about a week.

2-Preliminary Design and BudgetingAfter the on-site visit, we prefer to meet in our Design Studio where we have many samples, reference books, and portfolios of our work. The design process involves the preparation of the basic ideas, and possibly an outline of alternatives. Depending on the line of cabinetry chossen there may be many styles and possibilities to be explored. We are especially attuned to period details and historic architecture. We will provide a written estimate and contract for the design, production, and instalation of the cabinetry with our sister company, Southern Evergreen. The contract will require a deposit for long lead time items, typically cabinetry and appliances. The deposit will not be required until these costs are finalized and the design has been approved (see below).
| | |
3-Cabinetry ContractAfter the contract is in place it generally takes 2 to 3 additional meetings, shared between our Design Studio and the site, to complete "Advanced Design".
| | |
4-Advanced Design, Material Selections, and SpecificationsDuring the next 2 or 3 meetings we will review all of the design ideas and elements in the design and make sure nothing has been overlooked. If necessary, Architectural, Engineering, and/or permit drawings will be completed at this time. We will assist you with scheduling and coordinating material selections at local show rooms. This process may include visits to countertop, tile, flooring, plumbing, lighting, and appliance show rooms of local dealers. Our Design Team will document all of these decisions and coordinate accordingly. After the design has been completed and a majority of the material selections have been made we will require you to "sign off" and approve the cabinetry design and necessary material deposits.
5-Ordering and Product AcknowledgementAfter the necessary material deposits are secured all of the materials will be ordered. This requires many hours of tedious product and order review, coordination, and communication with our suppliers and craftsman. This process may take up to 2 weeks, and at the end of the process we will know the exact delivery date of all materials. Once the delivery dates are secured, we will coordinate all construction related activities directly with you. This may require additional meetings on the site and extenssive coordination between our Design Team, Southern Evergreen, subcontractors, specialty trades, installers, craftsman, and inspectors.
6-Production and InstalationWe go into extenssive detail on this phase in "Instalation, Warranty, and Care" |
